No one can win a game alone

Well ... that's not exactly how famed soccer player Pele said it, but I think you will get my point. At 50, I feel confident in saying that I know a lot of things, but I'm fully comfortable admitting that there is so much that I don't know. I've been in my day job for more than 20 years and I learn something new every day. Thankfully, I have a great team of people working with me, each with expertise in a specific area that makes our collective team stronger.

I witnessed this dynamic this past weekend with our first UpLIFT Nola Open House. It was quite fitting that the event coincided with the big LSU game (to be followed by a Saints win on Sunday) because there were so many parallels.

Someone played the role of the coach, while another was the quarterback. Some played offense, some played defense and special teams. From our sons who served refreshments and drinks, enrolled students in classes and handled photography, to our grand daughter who was the hostess with the mostest (yes, it's December, and yes, she's in a bathing suit).

And our ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS instructors, who welcomed potential students and shared their stories about rekindling a love for art, the benefits of meditation, and the vast array of yoga modalities that make the practice accessible to everyone. The Nola Mobile Spa by Greenstone Therapy was on hand to provide chair massages and Golden Bear Skin Care shared their all natural products.

This diverse cast of characters, each with expertise in a specific area, came together to form an awesome team that I hope will serve the community for many years to come.
